Listening to a panel of Upperclassmen speak about what UCLA has to offer.

We hear a lot from our new transfers about how they would like transfer counseling and networking through RSS, so we thought we would like to make this real. Allow us to be the first to welcome you to UCLA!

In the Transfer Overnight Stay Program, accepted transfer students stay with a UCLA upperclassman and have the opportunity to experience classes and meet fellow Regents Scholars and Regents Scholar Transfers.

Last year, we piloted a new Transfer Overnight Stay Program. It was a great success that we aim to repeat this Spring.

tOSP is designed to...

  • Allow new transfer students to interact and meet other transfers going through the same process.
  • Offer transfer students mentoring from RSS upperclassmen currently at UCLA and current RSS transfer students.
  • Offer advice about what is often a tricky process of getting accustomed to a new school. We want to help you plan your schedules for the next few years and tell you about your housing and scheduling options, as well as about volunteer, extracurricular, job and internship options at UCLA.
  • Allow transfers to enjoy UCLA and look forward to the following year. Congratulations on your acceptance into our program!




Preparing for your visit

  1. Register for tOSP
  2. Print out and have signed both waivers before arriving for tOSP. Without these documents, you can't participate in the program.
  3. Take a look at the itinerary and pack accordingly. Use the What to Bring section for suggestions too.


What to Bring Information for Drivers
  • Change of clothes
  • Toiletries and Towel
  • About $35 for food
  • $10 for an optional movie
  • $20 for parking (if applicable)
  • Sleeping bag and pillow
  • Photo ID
  • Tennis Shoes for outdoor activities


  • View UCLA Maps and Driving Directions.
  • If you’re being dropped off, work out a time/place with your host.
  • If you’re driving yourself, you can buy parking permits daily for $9 at the entrance to Lot 4. Ask for Sunset Village, Sunset Recreation Center, or Lot 11 parking. Remember to purchase a new permit each day.
